EPTFE membrane is made by expanding and stretching polytetrafluoroethylene. After being stretched, the polytetrafluoroethylene film forms a network structure in three dimensions, with over 9 billion micropores per square inch on the surface of the film. Excellent stretching technology can maintain the diameter of micropores between 0.1-1.0 micrometers (0.1-1.0 × 10-6m). More than 10000 times smaller than water droplets, ePTFE membrane has excellent water resistance performance (exceeding the waterproof requirements of IP67 standard), and even the smallest water droplets (light mist) cannot pass through the membrane. At the same time, the diameter of the micropores is over 700 times larger than that of water vapor molecules. So while having strong waterproof (and preventing oil, dust, bacteria, etc.) performance, it can also allow gas molecules to easily pass through the micropores on the membrane, thereby achieving the function of air permeability and pressure balance. Therefore, it achieves the removal of negative pressure water absorption caused by gas expansion and contraction stress, and solves the problem of fog and vapor.
