Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is a high-speed data storage interface designed for high-performance access and fast data. Designed primarily for data storage centers the SAS interface is SATA compliant.
This allows the user to mix more expensive lower capacity SAS drives for applications requiring faster data access and greater reliability with higher capacity lower cost SATA drives for applications with lower access speed requirements.This 1 meter long cable uses 28 AWG wire and is designed for indoor use.
It has a single SFF-8087 Mini SAS 36-pin male plug on one end and four SFF-8482 29-pin SAS female plugs each with a 4-pin Molex 8981 female power connector built into the other end. # of environment pins SFF-8087 36 SFF-8088 internal 26 SFF-8482 external 29 SFF-8484 32 SFF-8470 34 external (also sometimes internal)
