Bed sheets, pronounced chu á ng d ā n. It is one of the textiles used in bed, also known as bedding. Generally, fabrics with a wide width, soft texture, and good warmth retention are used.
The characteristics of fabrics are flexible changes in width, color, and shape. There are two types of fabrics: pure cotton and blended according to the different raw materials used. Pure cotton bed sheets have good breathability and moisture absorption, comfortable and soft texture, and are thick and wear-resistant. Both warp and weft yarns are called single yarn woven bed sheets, while those with ply yarns are called full thread bed sheets. Yarns interwoven with ply yarns as warp and single yarns as weft are called half thread bed sheets. Blended bed sheets come in cotton/vitamin, cotton/polyester, and cotton/linen products, which have advantages such as easy washing, quick drying, strong scraping, and durability.
The length and width of the bed sheet are determined according to the size of the bed, and there is a distinction between Chinese and Western styles.
Chinese style bed sheets generally have a length of 210-228 centimeters and a width of 100-200 centimeters. Fabric is usually made of heavy weave, variable weave, or combined weave, with a thicker texture.
Western style bed sheets generally have a length of around 108 inches and widths of 72, 80, 90 inches, and more. Generally, plain or twill weave is used, with a thinner texture and mostly scattered patterns on the ground. Some products have been brushed and have good hand feel and warmth retention.
The variety of bed sheets includes all white, solid, striped, printed, jacquard, brushed, etc.
The appearance of all white bed sheets is pure white, usually woven from natural cotton yarn, and then subjected to bleaching and whitening treatment.
A plain color bed sheet is made from a white body dyed. The striped bed sheets are woven with colored yarn (thread). The same color tone but different shades are called plain stripes, while those with different tones are called colored stripes. Those separated by satin and other fabrics are called satin stripes.
The flower patterns of printed bed sheets include border flower, medium flower, long stripe flower, diagonal flower, scattered flower, and four corner medium flower (commonly known as four dishes and one soup).
The pattern of the jacquard bed sheet is woven using a multi arm machine or jacquard machine according to the design requirements. The bed sheets have the advantages of good luster, low shrinkage rate, and bright colors after being treated with silk polishing.
