NOTES:
The function of lifting the bridge is obvious. Lowering it under heavy load can serve as a load-bearing function, while raising it under empty load can reduce driving resistance, reduce fuel consumption, and also reduce tire wear.
When the lifting bridge is applied at different positions on the vehicle, its function and ability will vary. At present, the most common trucks that use lifting bridges are dual rear axle tractors, which have rear axle lifting, namely 6X2R, and middle axle lifting, namely 6X2F.
So what is the difference between these two types of lifting bridges in a tractor? Compared to the middle axle, the rear lifting structure is simpler. The rear lifting axle (6X2R): After the drive axle, there is no interference with the transmiion shaft, and the arrangement of the axle and chais components is more conventional. The structure is simpler compared to the middle axle lifting. The models with this configuration are generally single guide wheel models with two front and eight rear, and the main function of the rear lifting axle is to aist in load-bearing.
Medium lift axle: Before driving the axle, in order to avoid interference with the transmiion shaft, a curved axle is usually used, and the layout of the V-shaped push rod needs to be changed (biased V-push). Vehicles with this configuration are generally double guide wheel models with front four and rear four, and the medium lift axle is usually connected to a single tire, which is used to aist steering while also considering load-bearing.
Which is better in the comparison of rear axle lifting? 1. The rear axle lifting structure is simpler, which is an advantage to some extent; Generally speaking, due to interference with the transmiion shaft, the ground clearance of the middle lifting axle is relatively small; 3. After lifting the lifting axle, the vehicle is equivalent to a 4X2 drive, and the overall wheelbase of the rear axle lifting is smaller, so the turning radius is also smaller (but if the lifting axle has steering function, the steering of the middle lifting axle is more flexible); 4. Due to the influence of the tractor structure (the saddle is located between the double rear axles), the axle load of the final axle is the largest during towing. Therefore, when the lifting bridge is lowered, the weight borne by the rear lifting bridge is greater than that of the middle lifting bridge; 5. Similarly, due to the influence of the tractor structure (the saddle is located behind the second axle), when the rear axle is lifted, it is affected by the torque of the cantilever beam, and the axle load will be exceively concentrated on the drive axle, while the axle load of the steering axle will decrease. Therefore, the adhesion of the front axle will be reduced, which to some extent affects the steering performance, and even leads to the phenomenon of tilting (therefore, foreign trucks have movable saddles to transfer axle load);
Overall, both mid lift and rear lift have their own advantages, and due to their simple structure, flexible steering, and axle load distribution, the application of rear lift bridges in domestic and foreign tractors will be more common.
