Basic knowledge of inverter use
1. Q: What is an inverter and what role does it play?
Answer: Simply put, an inverter is an electronic device that converts low-voltage (DC 12V/24V/36V/60V) DC into 220V AC. Because we usually rectify 220V AC power into DC power to use, and the inverter has the opposite effect, hence the name. We are in a "mobile" era, mobile office, mobile communication, mobile leisure and entertainment. In the mobile state, people not only need low-voltage DC power supplied by batteries or batteries, but also need 220V AC power that is indispensable in our daily envment. Inverters can meet our needs.
2. Q: According to the output waveform, how many types of inverters are there?
A: There are two main types, one is pure sine wave inverter, and the other is modified sine wave inverter. The modified sine wave is also called quasi sine wave (or modified sine wave, simulated sine wave, etc.).
The output waveform of pure sine wave inverter is pure sine wave. This waveform is stable, undistorted, not easy to deform, and has strong load capacity, which is close to the power supply capacity of municipal power supply. With inductive load, such as microwave oven and motor, it can make the load work faster and effectively reduce the noise generated by the equipment. Provide continuous and stable AC to ensure the continuous and normal operation of the equipment. The corrected sine wave output waveform is the corrected sine wave. The switching inverter uses PWM pulse width modulation to generate the corrected wave output. In the inverter proce, due to the use of special intelligent circuit and high-power FET, the power lo of the system is greatly reduced, the soft start function is added, and the reliability of the inverter is effectively guaranteed. The modified chord wave used in the inverter can basically meet most of our power needs, with high efficiency, low noise and moderate price, so it has become the mainstream product in the market. 3. Q: What is "inductive load"? A: In layman's terms, it means high-power electrical products made by using electromagnetic induction principle, such as motors, compreors, relays, fluorescent lamps and so on. This kind of products need a starting current which is much larger (about 3-7 times) than that needed to maintain normal operation. For example, a refrigerator that consumes about 150 watts during normal operation can have a starting power of more than 1000 watts. In addition, the inductive load wilenerate back electromotive voltage when the power supply is turned on or off, and the peak value of this voltage is far greater than the voltage that the inverter can bear, which will easily cause instantaneous overload of the inverter and affect the service life of the inverter. Therefore, this kind of electrical appliances have higher requirements on power supply waveform.
4. Q: What is inverter efficiency? Answer: When the inverter is working, it also consumes a part of power, so its input power is greater than its output power. The efficiency of inverter is the ratio of input power to output power. If an inverter inputs 100 watts of DC and outputs 90 watts of AC, its efficiency is 90%. 5. Q: what is continuous output power? What is peak output power? Answer: Some electrical appliances or tools that use motors, such as refrigerators, washing machines, electric drills, etc., need a lot of current to drive them at the moment of starting, and once they are started succefully, only a small current is needed to maintain their normal operation. Therefore, for inverters, there are concepts of continuous output power and peak output power. Continuous output power is rated output power; Generally, the peak output power is twice the rated output power. It must be emphasized that the starting current of some electrical appliances, such as air conditioners and refrigerators, is equivalent to 3-7 times of the normal working current. Therefore, only the inverter that can meet the starting peak power of electrical appliances can work normally.
6. Q: How should I connect the inverter to the power supply and load? Answer: For appliances below 300 watts, the 300 watt inverter plug can be directly plued into the cigarette socket for use. Inverters over 300 watts are directly connected to the battery through alligator clip wires, the red line is connected to the battery positive pole, and the black line is connected to the battery negative pole. If the power consumption place is far away from the battery, the connecting principle of the inverter is: the connecting line between the inverter and the battery should be as short as poible, but the output line of 220 V AC is longer.
7. Q: what are the risks of using inverter? A: the wire from the car battery to the input end of the inverter carries a very large current. If the copper wire is heated or even caught fire due to poor quality, too thin wire or exceive load, it will lead to a very serious accident. Therefore, the operation of the inverter must be carried out in strict accordance with the provisions of the user's manual. 8. Q: How do I know the capacity of the battery?
A: there are many letters and numbers printed on the battery. As long as you find the word xxah, you can know how large a battery it is. Let's start with the meaning of ah. A stands for ampere, that is, the unit of current, and H stands for hour. The two letters together mean "ampere hour", that is, how many amperes of current can be continuously output in an hour. The first XX is usually two numbers, that is, the number of amperes. For example, 45ah means that the battery can output (12 volts) 45 amps in an hour. As for the output power of this battery, we multiply 12 volts by 45 amps to get 540 watts, which is the output power (theoretical value) of the battery.
9. Q: How to equip batteries with suitable inverters? A: If the specification of the battery is 12 volts and 50 ampere-hours, we multiply 12 volts by 50 ampere-hours, and the output power of the battery is 600 watts. If the efficiency of the inverter is 90%, we multiply 90% by 600 watts to get 540 watts. That is to say, your battery can drive an inverter with a maximum output power of 540 watts. Of course, you can also adopt the "one-step" purchasing method, that is, buy an inverter with an output power of 800 watts regardle of the specifications of the batteries currently used in your car. Then, use it within the allowable range of this battery at present, and then use it at full power ar changing to a bier car in the future. Finally, the power requirement of the inverter is not high, for example, 100 watts is enough, so you can buy a low-power inverter. In addition, when determining the power of the inverter, there is an ant principle, that is, when using the inverter, do not run at full load for a long time, otherwise the life of the inverter will be greatly shortened, and the failure rate of the inverter will also increase significantly. We strongly recommend that users should use the inverter under the condition of not exceeding 85% of rated power.
10.Q:What should I pay attention to when using a car inverter? Answer: First of all, use the inverter in strict accordance with the user manual; second, the output voltage of the inverter is 220 volts alternating current, and this 220 volts is in a small space and is in a movable state, so it must be extra Be careful. It should be placed in a safer place (especially away from children!) to prevent electric shock. When not in use, it is best to cut off its input power. Third, do not place the inverter in direct sunlight or near the outlet of the heater. The working envment temperature of the inverter should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius. Fourth, the inverter generates heat when it is working, so do not place objects near or on it. Fifth, the inverter is afraid of water, so do not expose it to rain or sprinkle with water. 11. Q: why is the voltage displayed lower than 220 V when using an ordinary multimeter to measure the AC output of a quasi sine wave inverter? A: This is normal, because the multimeter with the' true effective value' file should be used when measuring the quasi sine wave AC voltage to get the correct reading.
Use of inverter
1) Power selection
It must be powered by battery or automobile cigarette . 12V, 24V, 48V and 60V can be selected according to different finished products.
2)Connect to the inverter to the power supply
Turn off the "off" status of the inverter and all devices.
A:Battery power supply: Connect the negative terminal of the battery to the black terminal (-) of the inverter, and connect the positive terminal of the battery to the red terminal (+) of the inverter.
B: Power supply for automobile cigarette : Ar the special connection of cigarette is connected to the red terminal of inverter according to the red line and the black terminal of inverter according to the black line, plug the cigarette into the automobile cigarette .
3) Connected to inverter and consumer
Ensure that the load power source is the nominal power source of the inverter, and the starting current cannot exceed the peak capacity of the inverter. Ar connecting the inverter and electrical appliances, turn on the inverter and electrical appliances.
4) Turn on the inverter switch, the buzzer starts, and the cooling fan starts. If the performance is normal, the fan speed will be stopped by half, and the green indicator light will light up, indicating normal operation. The display of digital tube changes from "-"to the display of actual input and output voltage data. The upper three bits display the input voltage with an accuracy of 0.1V, and the lower three bits display the output voltage with an accuracy of 1V.
5) If the load power is higher than the rated output power of the inverter, overload protection is performed. The output voltage of the product is automatically turned off, and the indicator light turns red, and the output voltage of the digital tube is displayed as "000". Please remove the load. Ar connecting a load le than the rated power, the machine will start automatically every two seconds, or restart the machine through the inverter switch.
6) If there is no output and an alarm is given, judge the cause of the fault according to the singing sound. If the sound is rapid (about three times a second), the input voltage is higher than the input safe voltage, and this voltage is displayed on the digital tube; If the sound is gentle (about once a second), the input voltage is lower than the normal working voltage, and this voltage is displayed on the digital tube; When the singing is slow (about once every 2 seconds), it is caused by the high internal temperature. At this time, the cooling fan will rotate at full speed, and the machine will start automatically when the temperature drops to the safe working temperature.
Tip: Batteries are designed to provide instantaneous high current at start-up, and they are not suitable for deep discharge. If non UPS products are used until the undervoltage is turned off, the input power supply shall be disconnected and the battery shall be charged to avoid affecting the service life of the battery.
Note: Although this product is provided with overvoltage protection function, if the input voltage exceeds the working voltage of the product, it may still damage this product.
