The second hand is used for timing. The second hand is used for timing. The first button on the top right (timing start) and the second button on the bottom right (timing reset) adjust the time/calendar. Rotate the head out and slightly pull the second gear to adjust the calendar. Pull the third gear to adjust the hour/minute hand.
