C Adapter is designed for all new Sony Camcorder that connects the 10pin Sony multi-AV remote terminal jack (A/V R) to 2.5mm traditional C jack plus video and audio outputs with RCA connectors. Sony combines audio/video output and C signal into one single 10pin multi-AV remote terminal jack (A/V R) on all new camcorders. Most of the new Sony Camcorders don't have the standard 2.5mm C jack any more. C controls becomes part of the 10pin AV jack. C is available but not directly acceible without the adapter cable. This adapter makes the connection between Sony new 10pin connector and 2.5mm C poible. No batteries, plug and play, work for all C protocol.

Only the models listed above are affected. If your video camera is NOT listed, then it will work with no probl. This is what Sony did to these models: ONLY the 2011 video cameras listed above, so when you plug in a cable with a C connector, it disables the composite video output. You can still using the HDMI jack to get video out. You can thank Sony for this ridiculous change to the AV/R jack on only the 2011. So if you video camera is NOT listed above, you have nothing to worry about.
